Migrants from many countries contributed to a special concert held as part of the Canberra Day 1964 celebrations to mark the 51st anniversary of the founding of the national capital. The concert was organised by the Good Neighbour Council. Among groups who took part in the concert were the Polish Echo Choir, the Ukrainian Folk Dancing Ensemble (both from Sydney), a Canberra Ukrainian folk dancing group and a group of Austrian folk dancers, also from Canberra. Junior members of the Polish Echo Choir have their traditional had-dress adjusted by older members of the choir before taking the stage for the Canberra Day concert
