Since the early post-war years, migrants from some 30 countries have comprised about half the men working on Tasmania's hydro-electric power developments. The story is the same on the latest project at Poatina, where 780 men are working on the State's first underground power station. Italian-born Celestino Callegari a ganger at Poatina is shown driving a locomotive in the main tunnel. He has been in Australia for 10 years and worked previously on the Butler's Gorge dam and powerhouse project
