Five years ago John Woodcock, from Stocksbridge, near Sheffield, began work sweeping floors at the huge Port Kembla steelworks, NSW. Six months later he became an assistant steel roller and last year he was selected to study methods of temper rolling steel in the United States. Mr Woodcock inspects a 15-ton coil of temper rolled steel before it is fed into machine for cutting
