Bee-keeping is Joe's sideline. He keeps the insects at the experimental farm, and produces some fine honey. Joe Branns, his wife Cherry and their children Jeisje 9, Chris 7, Robert 5, Tom 4, Alan 3, and Eric 1 are happily settled in Australia after their move from Renkum Holland in 1955 - They live in their own house in Bileola, Central Queensland, one of the most prosperous towns in the State. Joe 29, studied tropical agriculture in Holland with a view to working in Indonesia, and decided to put his knowledge to work in the Australian tropics. He is now an agricultural experimentalist at the Government farm at Biloela, raising new strains of wheat, sorghum and pasture grasses
