Lucas Heights Atomic Reactor - Atomic energy experts believe that Australia is within 10 years of setting up its first power producing atomic reactors. With two experimental reactors in operation, Australia has already earned a rating by the international Atomic Energy Agency. Nerve centre of the campaign to harness the atom to industry is the Australian Atomic Energy Commission's Research Establishment at Lucas Heights. Scientists including migrants from Britain and several European countries are conducting experiments to determine the type of atomic power system most suitable to Australian conditions - Model of Lithium 7 atom. Nuclei of all atoms consist of positive charge protons (white in model) and neutrons (black) which have no electric charge
