Migrants from Europe had played an important part in producing one million Holden cars in Australia, a General Motors-Holden's assembly line at Dandenong, 22 miles from Melbourne, Australia's second biggest city (population: 1913000) and capital of the State of Victoria, on October 25. Holden's were being produced at the rate of 606 a day, and by the end of 1962, 36 000 of the vehicles would have been exported to 46 overseas territories including New Zealand, South Africa, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Japan, Lebanon and Greece. Export Holden's await shipment at the GMH plant at Dandenong, Victoria
