eccentric emu at Western Australia mill - An eccentric emu named Bill is the pet of employees at the Donnelley River sawmill, 200 miles south of Perth, WA. Bill is normally a placid bird who struts about the mill all day inspecting the karri logs as they arrive from the bush. He is so tame that children can feed him or sit on his back. Three-year-old Raelynn Tillman isn't afraid to sit on Bill's back on her own. But she isn't allowed to ride him around, because emus have a habit of suddenly taking off and running at high speeds of 30 miles an hour or more
