Germans in the Barossa Valley - Vignerons and winemakers from Germany are joining four generations of their countrymen in the Barossa Valley, 40 miles from Adelaide, the capital of the State of South Australia, in making wine which is placed high on the wine lists of the world. Most of Australia's 33000 000 gallons annual wine production comes from the 128 square miles valley. The first wines were planted in the 1840's by Johann Gramp and Joseph Seppelt whose wineries now are among the largest in the Southern Hemisphere.
