Mr and Mrs Max Bowden, formerly from England, are making a thriving business manufacturing and selling shell jewellery collected from the beaches of Northern Queensland. The Bowdens, on arrival from England, bought a run-down banana plantation, and had to resort to dishwashing before starting their thriving shell business. Some of the jewellery Mrs Bowden makes is exported to San Francisco and Hawaii
