block business in Gladstone - Jitse (Jim) Veenhoven, 40, formerly of The Netherlands, and now of Gladstone, Queensland, Australia, migrated to his new country in 1951. He had been a farmer, but in common with many migrants he changed his trade in Australia and is now the owner of a concrete block business, employing six men and all set for expansion in Queensland's fastest growing coastal town. Jim married a Dutch girl, Nel Peterse, from Rotterdam, whom he met in Australia, and regards his new country as the land of opportunity for himself and children, John, nine and Vivian, four.
