A former baker from Bilthoven, the Netherlands, has been appointed to a key position in the Royal Melbourne Hospital, one of ten major public hospitals in Melbourne, VIC. Mr Johan van Zanten, of Mount Waverley, is the personal assistant to the hospital's manager. Mr van Zanten said his job entailed helping to organise the hospital's services. Last year the hospital treated 15000 bed patients, 40000 outpatients and provided 1500000 meals and washed nearly 300000 pounds of laundry for patients. "It's more like helping to run a small town" said Mr van Zanten. Mr van Zanten in his office
