The Victorian Governments Rural Finance and Settlement Commission has helped more than 400 farmers, many of them migrants, to establish their own farms in Victoria. After share-farming for several years in northern Victoria, he was allocated a 98-acres irrigated dairy farm at Dunbulbalane, 130 miles north of Melbourne, Victoria's capital.
