Employees from the Department of Civil Aviation - Jan de Jong, a former KLM maintenance engineer foreman at Amsterdam Airport, has graduated to a Government Civil Aviation job as an air worthiness surveyor at Adelaide Airport. Jan 42, migrated from 12 Goldschmeding Plantsoen, Amstelveen in 1960, "because I was getting bogged down in administrative work". His salary has tripled to a minimum $A350 a month. The work involves safety checks on aircraft, fuel supplies and servicing systems, and investigations of aircraft mishaps and incident reports.
