Munich trained chef Rudolf Hampele has won 2 gold and 2 silver medals at the annual Australian Catering Exhibition during the past 6 years. Last year the judges named him Australia's second best chef. Mr Hampele, 31, formerly of Schlossberg Strasse, Munich, came to Australia in 1961. He now works as the head chef at the "Old Heidelberg" food bar in a new shopping centre at Bankstown NSW. Customers are able to choose dishes from any one of the different competing restaurants and enjoy their meal in the comfortable dining room.
