There are tow intensely proud days in the life of Luigi Gigliotti. The first was when he became an Australian citizen, in 1946, and the second was in September when he was invested as a Member of the British Empire, he was awarded the honour of Queen Elizabeth for "valuable and untiring service to Italian migrants", Mr Gigliotti, is already the recipient of Italian Solidarity, awarded in 1958, an officer of Merito of the Italian Republic, which he received in 1965. Mr Gigliotti came to Australia from the township of Decollaturra, in the province of Catanzaro in South eastern Italy. Mr Luigi Gigliotti receives the award from the Governor of Victoria, Sir Rohan Delacombe, at Government House, Melbourne.
