Louis Brugman is one of the many successful post-war Dutch migrants to Australia. Louis, manager of a service station in Gerrit Vd. Veenstr.53, Amsterdam, came to Melbourne with his wife to organize the transport branch of a Dutch firm. In these first months he become friendly with his Australian neighbour George Reed. The friendship has developed into a business partnership and the Australian and Dutchman now jointly run a profitable Service Station at Blackburn, a progressive suburb 11 miles from Melbourne. Louis finds business condition for garage men much easier. He say Australian customers are not as "spoilt" as they are in Europe
