Ukrainian migrant Mr. A. Sten took time off form his job as taxidermist at Melbourne Museum to deliver a speech of gratitude which he had prepared for his naturalization ceremony at Preston Town Hall. The speech praised Australians for their "kind-heartedness, cordiality and hospitality" and warned migrants of the necessity and hospitality" and warned migrants of the necessity to learn English" and the Australian dialect". Mr. Sten and his wife and daughter arrived in Australia on Australia Day, 1950
