Hundreds of Australia's new settlers played a leading part in a spectacular development project in north Queensland. Tinaroo Falls Dam. They made up about 58 per cent of the peak workforce of more than 700 men. The concreting gangs on the project were practically 100 per cent migrants from more than 20 different countries. Workers on the project were accommodated in barracks for single men and houses for married man and their families.
