Throughout the State of Queensland, post-war settlers can be found among workers who are developing natural resources and expanding the State's commerce. Queensland's population of nearly 1 500 000 includes some 100 000 settlers from the United Kingdom and a score of European countries. British migrant William Stanley Bedden, 52, is foreman in the boning room at Lakes Creek Meatworks, Rockhampton. Here the beef is prepared for export to the USA.
