More than half the employees at the 2 Million Pound English Electric factory at Rocklea, Brisbane, Australia, are immigrants. Of the 750 employees 47.8 per cent are Australians, 27.3 per cent are British immigrants and 24.9 per cent are immigrants from European countries. The factory, built after the war, is owned by the English Electric Coy, whose products range from switchboards, transformers, valves and hydraulic equipment to giant diesel electric locomotives. A feature of staff relations is the number of family groups working in the factory. Foreman Ralph Brindle November 1959
