Building success in Brisbane. Roy Barber, from 15 Orient Crescent, Leeds, was 10 when he came to Australia 9 years ago and started as a building contractor in Brisbane with only one employee, an apprentice carpenter. Now he is the head of three building firms with 60 employees and a wages bill of 1400 pounds Sterling a week. He started by building houses, now his main interest is industrial buildings and he recently won an 83000 Pound Sterling contract for a new road transport terminal. The Barber home, set in 2.5 acres of rich land on the outskirts of Brisbane has its own boomerang shaped swimming pool.
