Self-employed. When bricklayer David Propert migrated to Australia he had only 150 Pounds Sterling. That was 12 years ago. Mr Propert, now only 34, is a building contractor in Brisbane, a city of nearly 600,000 people, lives in his 15 square two garage brick home, has a caravan for touring holidays, and has just paid 2050 Pounds Sterling for 2.5 acres of land in the most select part of Brisbane's green belt. On it he will build a 17 square "dream home" for his wife and three Australian born children. Mr Propert who came from Bridgetown, via Dulverton, Somerset, married Margaret Gilroy of Percy Road, Whitley Bay, Northumberland, a year before migrating. He worked in Whitley Bay as a bricklayer. The Propert family admires a bunch of bananas off plants in the garden of their home
