I knew Professor Berlinski in Los Angeles, California, where I studied music with him in the late 1960's. He had written a monumental piece for orchestra and two choirs based on the youth of Winston Churchhill that was later performed in San Diego. He was a wonderful teacher and I think of him often with great fondness and love. He lived in a rented house in the Wilshire District with his Parisian wife and his son, Thierry. He had a Pleyel piano which I think is the same as the one in the photograph.
