Zone leaders of the Association of Apex Clubs from all States attended a conference in Canberra on July 5 to plan details of an Apex scheme to bring more British Migrants to Australia. They discussed details of the new scheme, "Operation Handclasp" with Senior Immigration Officers. Each of the 409 Apex Clubs throughout Australia have been asked to nominate at least one person or family for migration from Britain, and to help these people to find accommodation and employment on arrival. Today's conference was opened by Mr RE Armstrong , Ag Deputy Secretary of the Department of Immigration and was chaired by Mr RF Harris, Assistant Secretary (Operations) in the Department
