To anyone coming the 12000 miles from Europe to Australia, the first moments ashore can be bewildering and a little strange. Contact workers of the Good Neighbour Council of NSW are determined that migrants will feel welcome and wanted when they disembarked at Sydney. GN contact worker Miss J Sorrell, in the background, helps Mr and Mrs A Stone, from England, and their children, Adrian, 13, and Rebecca, 14, with their luggage in the customs hall at Sydney's overseas passenger terminal.
