Reinhard Bruhns, aged 19, is the youngest migrant officer in Australia's part-time army, the Citizens Military Forces. He migrated from Hamburg to Australia ten years ago with his mother, Mrs Ella Bruhns, and now lives at St Albans, a western suburb of Melbourne. He joined the CMF at 17 and a half, shortly after starting a four-year diploma course in communications engineering at Melbourne's Royal Institute of Technology.
