Laboratory manager of the Faculty of Rural Science at the University of New England, New South Wales, Australia, Mr David Gadd, migrated from Tunbridge Wells, Kent, in 1953, and came to Australia after six years in New Zealand. He has proved a boon to the sport of cricket in his new home Mr Gadd is the "Voice of Cricket" on the local radio station; he started a cricket umpires' class two years ago, and 12 people have so far qualified: he is the leading umpire in Armidale.
