Since April 23 1965, the Minister for Immigration, Mr Opperman, visited Britain and the continent for an 11 weeks tour to promote migration to Australia. He was accompanied by his private secretary Mrs D Simpson and by the Secretary of the Department of Immigration, Mr PR Heydon. Mr Opperman returned to Australia via Canada and the USA in Washington.
