Dutch brothers, John (left) and Theodor van Der Schoor, who came with their parents from Bloemendaal, near the tulip town of Haarlem. While John is paid by the state to study for a school-teaching career, Theodor, a first-year Arts student, is working his way through college as a university librarian. Their father, Andrew van Der Schoor, 47, a newspaper cashier, has six sons. He says: "at home I could have afforded to put John through university but here, with free schooling and other aids, I will be able to put them all through, if they want it."
