A lone girl in an all male University rowing crew is from Germany. Isa Schroeder, 20, of Dee Why West, Sydney, pharmacy student, was stroke and only female member of the Pharmacy Crew at the University Regatta in April 1960. Isa who migrated with her parents from Constanz, Germany in 1955, began rowing on Lake Constanz at the age of 13. In Australia she stroked the NSW women's crew to Australian title wins for two years and this is what got her a place in the all male University crew. Isa works as a Pharmacy assistant in Brookvale. She became a naturalized Australian in July, 1960, at a ceremony held at the Warringah Shire Council Chambers, Brookvale.
