The liner FAIRSEA carrying 1470 migrants from the United Kingdom was the brightest ship on the UK-Australian run. Over 530 children under the age of 14 years were aboard and they had the happiest four weeks of their lives. As she docked at Port Melbourne all decks were crammed with gay laughing children, anxious to get another look at their new home. Nineteen young men on their way to Sydney under the sponsorship of the Big Brother Movement get together on the deck of the FAIRSEA to hear how they will spend their stay in Melbourne.
