GRETA Migration Centre, near Newcastle. Greek migrants who reached Australia late in December, 1954, were soon at home at the Greta Immigration Centre, NSW. Listening to songs of their homeland, the musicians are (L to R) Andreas Kroublidis (Kilkis, near Salonika), Emanoel Lagos (Caterini, Macedonia), Theokalitos Atalasidis (Kilkis), Stergios Mitkas (Kilkis) and Nikolaos Kallifatidis (Kastorea, Macedonia). Stergios is playing a garda, a Macedonian goatskin instrument somewhat akin to a scottish bagpipe, while Kallifatidas plays a lyra, oldest of all Grecian instruments dating back 3000 years
