As a Presbyterian minister, the Rev Sam McCafferty can claim to have not only some of the most unusual sideline activities, but also some of the most interesting. Once a week he is the disc Jockey on the local radio station presenting "The Scottish 1/2Hour", he is the 'Tail Spinner' in the Mt Isa Lions Club, and he is the president of the Mt Isa junior Soccer Association. A plane journey of 600 miles to visit his charge. Born at Newmains, Lanarkshire, he and his 7 brothers and sisters and parents migrated in 1950. After the death of the father the family went back home, but Sam stayed and entered the Ministry. The Rev Sam McCafferty in the pulpit of Mt Isa Presbyterian church.
