Australian Citizenship Convention in Canberra from January 19 to January 22, 1965. The theme of this years' convention was "Every Settler a Citizen". A new understanding of the decisions that face migrants in a new country was gained by the delegates who attended the convention, which was opened by the Minister for Immigration, Mr Hubert Opperman, MP. Sir John Allison (left), the guests speaker at the Convention, meets a WA delegate who, by the time he returned to home from the convention had travelled 7000 miles. He is Mr G Gaunt, from Wyndham in the far north of WA who was representing the Good Neighbour Council of WA
