Ceremony, Orange, New South Wales. Thirty-one migrants became Australian Citizens at a naturalization ceremony in Orange, June 1956. Fourteen of them had come from Holland. The others were from Latvia, Ukraine, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland, Italy and Yugoslavia. About 400 citizens of Orange gave the candidates for naturalization a warm welcome. The Mayor, Alderman Alan Ridley, performed the ceremony. Guests included the senior emigration officer of the Royal Netherlands Embassy, Mr G Van Ryan.
