Matoula Jackas, 21 who came to Australia from Greece six years ago, was among the younger migrants who became Australian Citizens at the Randwick Town Hall in Sydney on January 23. Here she passes back to the Mayor of Randwick, Alderman W H Lucas, and the custodian of Bibles at the Randwick Town Hall, Mr Harry Shakespeare, the Bible upon which she took the Oath of Citizenship. Miss Jackas' father came to Greece before the 1939 war, and served with the Australian Defence Forces. After the war, he brought his wife and family, including Matoula. Matoula passed her leaving certificate examination last year, and she has begun a science course at Sydney Technical School
