A former circus acrobat from Germany has just been appointed assistant head keeper at Melbourne's Zoological Gardens. He is Ernst Weber, of 359 Pigdon Street, North Melbourne. Mr Weber was trained as an acrobat by his father, Mr Otto Weber, who owned a circus in Germany. In 1955, six months after he arrived in Australia he became an assistant keeper at the Melbourne zoo. Ernst Weber, formerly of Germany, is one of the few keepers at the Melbourne Zoological Gardens who can handle the elephants. Here he takes "Queenie" for her afternoon walk.
